The Hub Opens at Magic Kingdom

It looks like part of the Hub has been unveiled in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. While I’m basing my opinion off tweets from fellow Disney bloggers and guests at the park, from what I can see, it looks beautiful.

At first glance, I was worried about the grass being torn apart by guests, but I’m told it’s actually astroturf. I was beginning to imagine the old guy from UP yelling “get off my lawn” at guests.

I’m excited about the progress being made at the parks. The hub looks beautiful, no doubt. But am I the only one who thinks the theming looks a little off? Main Street is based off of Walt’s hometown of Marceline, Missouri and is designed to resemble the center of a turn-of-the-20th-century American town. The photos of the grass and garden with Main Street in the background has a New Orleans feel to it. It reminds me a lot of Port Orleans Riverside. Feel free to disagree, it’s just my two cents.

Regardless, I’m glad to see the area expanded and those walls come down!
