Christmas Tree Trail to Debut at Disney Springs This Holiday Season

Disney Parks Blog reports that Disney Springs will debut a “Christmas Tree Trail” on November 11th and will run through January 8th, 2017. Each tree will be decorated based on a theme from your favorite Disney movie. The themes include:

  • Mickey and Minnie Mouse
  • Disney Villains
  • “Moana”
  • “Beauty and the Beast”
  • “The Little Mermaid”
  • “Cinderella”
  • “The Princess and the Frog”
  • “Alice in Wonderland”
  • “Frozen”
  • “The Jungle Book”
  • “Mulan”
  • “101 Dalmatians”
  • “Tangled”
  • “Mary Poppins”
  • The Muppets

Disney continues to release informations surrounding the upcoming holiday season. From the new Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, to the new offerings at EPCOT’s Holidays Around the World and now the news that Disney Springs will be home to a “Christmas Tree Trail,” Disney has certainly upped the ante for this holiday season.

It was certainly looking grim going into this year. With the Osborne Lights discontinued and Hollywood Studios being in disarray, many questioned whether Disney would find a new home for the popular holiday spectacular or simply allow it to sink into the black hole of defunct attractions.

I had my money on Disney Springs as the most likely location, seeing as it provided the most space and would drive a ton of traffic to the new stores during the holiday season. While this isn’t quite the Osborne Lights, it’s certainly an attraction I can get on board with.

We have noticed that over the years, Disney has seemingly decorated less and less. When we first started going in 2009, it felt as though everywhere you looked was decorated. By last year, there was less and less decor throughout the parks and resorts. This year, it finally seems as though Disney is… (dare I say) making Christmas great again.
