Disney released the park hours for Christmas earlier this week and they’re interesting to say the least.
Now, it should be noted that Disney Park Hours can and most likely will change as the dates grow closer. We’ve even seen the hours extended and Extra Magic Hours added intra-week, so while you can certainly use these as a blueprint for planning your days, do know that they can change. Very rarely will the hours contract, only expand.
We continue to see a decrease in the amount of evening Extra Magic Hours. In past years, Magic Kingdom would host two late-night Extra Magic Hours (1am-3am.) The first would usually occur the first Friday or Sunday after Christmas, depending on when the holiday fell. Hollywood Studios, which always hosted evening Extra Magic Hours from 12am-2am on New Year’s Eve will close to all guests at 12am.
Aside from Extra Magic Hours, all the parks seem to be closing one hour earlier this year, with the exception of Animal Kingdom which will stay open later for its new nighttime entertainment. Again, this could change, so I’m not quite ready to speculate as to why this is happening.
I’ll continue to update the schedule as Disney (hopefully) adds hours and Extra Magic Hours leading up to the big week. Stay tuned.
